Do the American Savings & Loan holders really produce toners?

Do these holders actually produce toners or is it all marketing hype? Did they really give away both peace dollars and morgan dollar sin them?
And if they do, how can one tell if its the original coin?
I am asking because I see this peace $ toner
https://www.ebay.com/itm/334141492613?hash=item4dcc628d85%3Ag%3AfQwAAOSwJhphOSh7&nma=true&si=Ni0V7xHtDJRgNtpTPU0fq5%252Bosu0%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

This morgan toner $
https://www.ebay.com/itm/373722662776?hash=item57039b4778%3Ag%3A8NMAAOSwWi9hQRW2&nma=true&si=Ni0V7xHtDJRgNtpTPU0fq5%252Bosu0%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Then this empty holder that sold

Whats your take on these american savings & Loan holder Toners? Are they legit?

Disclaimer: I am asking about the the holders ability to produce toners themselves, nothing to do with any of the sellers reputations in the links above

They really did. It's my understanding that a lot of those 60's & 70's cardboard novelties produced some pretty cool tarnish on silver dollars over the years. There was one really nice one here listed for sale on the BST a while back.
I have a similar but different Morgan in a Tidy house cardboard holder... It's quite beautiful.

Possible sulfur content with the cardboard material.

There was no consideration given to potential tarnish of the coins. It was a promotional device with no regard to collections or preservation. Cheers, RickO

    This.

Low grade cardboard has high sulfur content. It's one of the reasons I laugh at the AT/NT debate. Stick a coin in a high sulfur environment on purpose and it's AT. Stick a coin in a cheap, non-archival holder by accident and it's a "beautiful toner".
