First time sending to be graded

Quick question here. I have been collecting for couple of years, but i have never sent anything in to be graded. So if im wanting to send like the recent ASE reverse proof set in, does it matter if package from mint is opened? Im sure a pretty easy question, but I still appreciate any help.

Only if they are doing qualifier for first day or first strike type labels
you better plan on a good wait, wait times are as long as I have seen in quite a while at both services
Yeah I saw on website its like 40+ days or more probably in reality. Is it worth it to get graded?
It is probably worth it if you get a 70 and a little extra premium for First Strike label.....Are you going for a 'double' slab? Should look nice. Cheers, RickO
I've had some coins there in the "economy" service level that are at 45 days now, and haven't moved from grading to encapsulation. I'm in no rush, but the waits are long.
thanks for the info. Definitely makes it an interesting choice to grade or not to.
It is feast or famine…if you pull 70’s it is worth it. If you pull 69’s or below…worth more in the unopened box.

I am curious how much slower it will be when EVERYONE sends in their 2021 morgans

Unless you have a good eye, and I assume you feel you are relatively inexperienced, it is hard to tell a 69 (not worth it) from a 70.
