Sotheby's has some good diagrams of the 1933 DEs in the auction lot description of the Farouk-Weitzman coin.
It's worth noting that the Farouk coin previously belonged to Max Berenstein and J.F. Bell, both of whom had another coin, so from a provenance perspective we have:
Collectors: Max Berenstein > J.F. Bell > King Farouk > Stuart Weitzman
All:
It's great to see all the owners. Here they are in alphabetical order by last name.
- L.G. Barnard
- J.F. “James” Bell, alias for Jake Shapiro
- Max Berenstein
- Frederick Charles Cogswell (F.C.C.) Boyd
- T. James Clarke
- Louis Edward Eliasberg Sr.
- Farouk bin Fuad
- James Flanagan
- Joan Langbord
- James A. Stack
- Stuart Weitzman
- Charles Williams

Great chart.
CAC really hurt their brand putting a bean on that coin IMHO.
How do you feel about PCGS and their brand, having graded it as they did?

Same!
Think the rain will hurt the rhubarb?
Here's a good history of each coin:

@CaptHenway... "Think the rain will hurt the rhubarb?" Not if it keeps up!! Cheers, RickO
Amazing chart, well done and easy to understand. Should there be an entry which shows when they became illegal to own?
Good to learn the history of the coin.
Roger Burdette speculates that 4 or 5 remain at large.
The secret service is apparently aware of one that's outside US jurisdiction.
My Saint Set
I think this flattering picture on the cover of the greysheet says it all regarding my thoughts on the 33 Saint.
King Farouk was rough on coins, imagine this got flipped around a bit.
Meanwhile, I send this one in for a regrade and it comes back the same (MS64)
Makes ya wonder.

Rarity ads a point or two. Just like ownership

I'm sitting here contemplating my navel and a thought comes over me.
Was the final price of the 33 affected by the grade or the CAC sticker?
If not... as Hillary Clinton famously said,,, "What difference does it make?"
I'm wondering when all the owners of 63 and under Saints attack PCGS because their coins are not in a 65 holder. I can understand gradeflation with the likes of an 1804 Dollar or top notch Early copper. But geeze! This was a coin 20th century coin struck for circulation and should be graded like the rest of them!
