Would this Barber Half Straight Grade?

Hi, I wanted your opinion if this Barber would straight grade (VF20 or VF25?) or if it seems like it had a possible old cleaning and that rim ding on the reverse would cause it to details grade.

Thanks for your thoughts!

I think it would straight grade.

I would put it in a type set album...

I expect the rim ding would be an issue.

    Doesn’t matter. @291fifth is right.

Many buyers on ebay would disagree! Heck, there's even a strong market for VG's and under! I don't agree but it is there and the folks selling seem to be making money.

Edit to add...That rim bump won't stop it from straight grading. If it does I have an arsenal of pictures of straight graded equal or worse.

It isn't worth slabbing so why worry about it. Strictly and album coin. That rim bump is going to look bigger and bigger with every year that passes.

I believe it would straight grade, but really not worth the cost IMO.... Either put in album or sell on ebay and make a bit of money there. Cheers, RickO

It should straight grade. The rim ding is minor. I see much worse in PCGS holders. I'd grade it VF25, however, it is not worth enough to me to have it graded.

Should straight grade - I'd go with close ups are making the rim ding more obvious than in hand.

Maybe it straight-grades, possibly not. If it does, the rim ding is still there and wouldn't really be a choice example.

I think chance good it would straight grade but ding would force discounting it.

I think it looks like a nice VF album coin. Maybe cleaned long ago and the rim bump would likely be an issue if submitted... but I wouldn't bother.

Edited to add: the rim hit would likely be much less evident in an album too...
