Turn-over season got crazy for me this year. Sold two properties, bought another, and move-in move-out season all within about 2 months.
Anyway, nobody cares about that. Had a thread on the US Coin forum about insurance appraisals. While everything was out of the vault, I had the opportunity to do some photography.
Pick up anything interesting lately?

Nice variety, Weiss!
I picked up this nice classic head piece last week on the BST forum.
I also boxed up these 10 ounces of modern gold bullion to put away for good. I’m not going to be adding any of this type of gold to my stack anymore. From here on, any gold bullion will be pre-33 generics. Luckily, I picked up almost of this modern stuff before the run-up so I’m way ahead on these pieces.

Got a little bored so I pulled out some things to look at. I'm sure you guys remember this little Cartier gold bar I got about 9 months back. Decided not to flip it as that was original intention and I'm happy I didn't. And also the 2 gold love tokens that I scored for a insane under scrap deal on eBay a few months back. The only true new pickup in this post is the 1928 $2.5 that my dad bought for his collection.

@Downtown1974.... Really nice gold collection....Cheers, RickO
Your post suggests an interesting question for stackers: Classic or modern. I can see the benefits of both. For me, the choice is easy

Got these last weekend at a new to me spot down the road. Both P$ 23s
Nice Morgan.... The date is in high demand this year.....Cheers, RickO
I might take that peace on the left for a pocket ride for a while to clean it up. Swap it for the 25 I got in Seattle some years back. The 8r I got in Barcelona was black as could be on one side, and after a bit of pocket time it cleaned up nicely.
The 1923-S Peace Dollar is notorious for being slightly undersize when they left the mint. When people stuck them in the old blue Whitman coin folders, they tended to fall out of their holes easily. So people would put clear tape across them to hold them in place. The darker streaks across both of your 1923-S Peace Dollars are caused by old tape residue. I see so many that are that way, maybe even half of all in existence. A bath in a solvent (such as acetone), followed by a non-abrasive "dip" cleaning would make them look a lot better.
I knew it was tape/album toning but didn't know there would be a reason why. Stacked with the morgan they are the tiniest bit smaller in diameter. If it's 1/2 mm that's tops.

Bought it at a local coin store. There was a large bag and some of the crystals were quite large. A company in Wallace made the blanks for Sunshine and tried to go in to some value-added art products with the crystals.
