Possible errors or variety, newbie asking

I recently inherited a few coins and while looking thru them I got hooked and now I'm checking anything and everything out. Countless hours of research and I'm still unable to identify without a doubt what these are any help would b appreciated
Next up 2020 american Samoa
Next is a 2009 district of Columbia quarter

Lots of damage, a die chip and a bit of machine doubling thrown in for good measure. No premium. You are probably wasting your time and eyesight looking for microscopic "errors" and "varieties" such as this.
You inherited a 2020 quarter?
The 1960 D cent is the Small Date variety.
The 1960 D cent and the 2009 DC quarter have die chips, which also fall under the category of die varieties. As mentioned, very small die breaks like that are not worth a premium, but are worth keeping for your collection if they interest you.
Not sure about the doubling on the 2009 American Samoa quarter. It doesn't look like typical machine doubling, and might be die doubling. I hesitate to call it one or the other, however, because it's on the incuse portion of the design. @koynekwest - How would you interpret this incuse doubling?
He said he "got hooked" and checks everything.
What kind of coins did you inherit? Yes they are addicting.
@Countrybounty ... Welcome aboard.... You have mostly PMD (Post Mint Damage) and a die chip.... The replies above cover the coins well. Good luck in your searches. Cheers, RickO

Don't assume they are self explanatory. For instance, I'm only guessing you mean that extra metal on the U in the last photo.
Nice explanations MsM

Welcome to the forum, I will leave the explanations for the anomalies that interest you to more knowledgeable members, but we don't usually see photos of such high quality!
.
do some more research on the quarter. that is some SERIOUS thick lettering you have going on there.
checked the 60-d cent as that part on the 6 looked familiar but out of the 70 or so listings between ddo/rpm nothing jumped out at me.
the die chip IN is a neat BIE-esque type chip on a modern coin. there "may" be minor interest in that for someone.
like others said, not much money in this type of stuff unless HIGH grade but you can always go for numismatic glory as others have said to me!
This.
