What do you think is the current worst NFL franchise?? For a variety of reasons I believe it's the Cincinnati Bengals who just don't seem to be able to get out of their own way. To my way of thinking the problems start at the top with ownership and run right down to the Coaching staff. There are several others in the running but Cincy really, really sucks right now.

Detroit has been pretty bad for the last 60 or so years.

Detroit, Cincy are the correct answers. I’d add Cleveland but they look to be building a quality team

Let's not forget the Jets, home of the buttfumble.

Had this question been asked a year or two ago, I think the Browns would have been the clear choice for worst (they had just come off an 0-16 season in 2017) but over the last 2-3 seasons they've changed their trajectory. They've finally found a good coach, made the playoffs and even won a game.

I'd go with the Jets as the #1 current worst franchise and I don't think that will change as long as Woody Johnson owns the team.

I actually forgot about the PETS but Zach Wilson could be a step in the right direction.

I'm definitely keeping an eye on him this year, it's a tough place for quarterbacks. If he doesn't succeed, I just hope the Jets don't dump him off on the Panthers!

Put the names of Houston, Detroit, Cincy and the Jets in hat and pull one out and you won't be wrong. You can play all day and never be wrong

I would definitely say Detroit. One playoff win since the merger. And they celebrated that win by deciding that their offense was TOO good, overhauled the whole thing, and went 5-11 the next year.

The franchise's two best players - Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson - both quit football entirely because of the franchise ineptitude. Another top 10 player - Matthew Stafford - demanded a trade for the very same reason. They were the first franchise to go 0-16. They once lost an overtime game because they decided to kick despite winning the toss.

Nobody else can compete with that level of long-term incompetence.

    And I love 'em anyway.

The Jets have not had a high quality quarterback since Joe Namath or maybe Kenny O’Brien. And if they have, we’d never know it because their offensive line is typically terrible. The years they have had a good offensive line, they have done really well.

I am always amazed how many people seem to overlook the importance of the offensive line. As good as Patrick Mahomes is(I’d say outstanding), I expect the Chiefs to have some significant problems this year because their once excellent line is gone and these young replacements are unproven.

A quarterback can’t throw laying down or on the sidelines.

Houston might set the standard for being horrendous over the next few years, they came apart at the seams. They will be lucky to win a game this year

IDK about the rest of the line but the Chiefs just added two really good offensive linemen in Joe Thuney & Orlando Brown Jr.

Yep! I take it your from San Diego. Nicest location in the USA by the way. I went to one Charger game in L.A. during the 2019 season. Very low attendance. I noticed many cars heading North that were flying Charger flags. In the parking lot I checked out the car dealer names on the licence plate frames. El Cajon, Poway, Escondido, Chula Vista, Mira Mar, Encintas, Santee, etc., etc. The Chargers have no L.A. fan base and I never do see it happening. Hell......the Rams depend on the visiting teams fans to fill the stadium. Very sad. The Chargers belong in San Diego. You fans down there got ripped!.....same as when the Rams left for St. Louis. How'd that work out?

But...little known fact. The Chargers played originally in Los Angeles. 1960 I think. I guess they've come back home....unfortunately.... nobody cares.

Yes, they started in 1960 in Los Angeles. They got terrible attendance because the Rams and the NFL were King at the time. No one there cared about them, or the AFL; so, the team's owner (Barron Hilton) moved them to San Diego, where they played for 56 years.

The San Diego people WERE betrayed. Terrible decision to move the team.
