I guess we should thank the 1921 Morgan Dollar

My thoughts. If the mint didn’t spend so much time minting the 86,730,000 1921 Morgan dollars across all 3 mints we wouldn’t have the key and semi key date in the other denominations. Buffalo, Mercury’s , SLQ, Walkers and Peace.
Is there any other year that one denomination was heavily minted making the others low mintage and more valuable like the year 1921?

That is an issue I have never thought of .... And I have no answer. Perhaps some of our other forum members can provide further information. Cheers, RickO
True that!

I remember buying 30 1921's to be given out as x-mas gifts.
I studied the list and couldn't think of anyone who would appreciate the gift. Most would have used it as pocket change.
Well thank God they minted that many or else Coin Vault would hardly have any Uncirculated Morgan Dollar inventory to sell -
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
We should also thank them because the 1921 Morgan dollars have led to the 2021 Morgan dollars which have led to profit!
Do you have evidence to support your hypothesis? I had always assumed that it was the horrible recession that destroyed demand, similar to the early thirties.
