How about posting some coin pic's you recently took and said.....dang! that came out nice.

Recently picked up some 1973-S San Fransisco Cable Car Centennial one bronze and two silver.
I thought to make a neat little desktop wallpaper of just the obverses and they came out fairly well.
I guess I gravitate to these for the architecture and trains......2 big loves of mine well, besides the hubby of course

I did them in white but this case the dark may look better......

I like(!) the medals and I prefer the white background. The medals pop given the toning.
I was happy with these two.

Hey Stef! Congrats on 20,000 posts! Great pics.

It is actually a super nice example of an Improperly Annealed Planchet error.
@ErrorsOnCoins wow really it looks just like a missing clad layer

I would love to but….it’s never happened 😵
BHNC #248 … 130 and counting.
Here are a couple. It helps to start with really pretty coins.
I thought that this new coin, an aureus of Caracalla with a facing Medusa on the reverse, was going to give me a world of pain to shoot but ended up working on my second try:
@SmEagle1795
For some reason, I think it would be rather enjoyable to sit and peruse your collection. Really nice stuff, consistently.

One-sided PL Onza with an overdate... Neat.

Not particularly recent but I was pretty happy w/how this one turned out. Tiny coin, really shines in the pics!

For a full slab shot, I thought this came out well. just an iPhone picture but it shows the coin and it’s color pretty accurately.

Lots of excellent and cool pics.
Great idea for a thread Stef.
I still need to set up my coin photography stand as it’s still in disorder after the cross state move.
I even have NEW coins to image!
Been too busy hiking, taking photos of birds and landscapes, while still trying to make room for all my ‘stuff’ in a smaller house.
This thread is a great kick in the butt to get it together, though that likely won’t happen until I’m done rebuilding some outdoor steps and staining and varnishing a bunch of new interior woodwork!
Cool thread though!

Exactly Stef - thats why 3 (?) years ago I asked PCGS prez if it was time to be a leader in coin photography and get behind a traveling exhibit showcasing how far its come (From a few coin pics only seen in coin mags - to phenomenal pics like PCGS Trueviews) And he shot it down. I see a bunch of sponsors who would get behind funding the exhibit that would travel around shows - or maybe even host a coin photography contest at Long Beach. I still think one of these days...

I don't take very good photos, but I thought these came out okay considering they were taken at a coin show.
Some here take what I would consider professional photos. They really show the coins well.

Nice coins!!! This one not as good as those but....

"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
These are some of the latest ones I did with my iPhone using manual focusing with Camera+2 app. I think they came out ok.

For this small coin I used a macro lens attached to the iPhone. I’m sort of satisfied with it
For capturing the color, I think this one came out pretty good. Especially considering it’s in an NGC slab. It was the first one I did with the manual focusing app.

One of my Dan Carr recovery pieces I have pat myself on the back for a job well done.
Anyways I think I nailed the coin in it’s true light.
This one doesn’t suck which is the best I can hope for.

This one lost its luster and gained some marks after taking the images. But I like It. Gives it that old rustic look.

Nice coin!!!
@coinsarefun ... "...dang! that came out nice."..... Well... that has never happened to me.
