Barbers. The single most boring series in American numismatics. Maybe even the world.
I'd rather have the highest registry set for post-1982 circulated Lincolns.
So to answer the question: No. I have not opened that thread.

I guess it could be worse.

I've never opened it, either. It has taken on a life of its own.

But with all those posts I have to wonder what's going on in there. Are they giving something away? :p

    I don't believe I have either, I don't do much with Barbers... :/

I haven’t in awhile, but I think it’s great to have a thread honoring MFH. He was a passionate collector and readily shared his journey here. It is sad he’s no longer with us.

I visit it from time to time, even though I'm not especially interested in Barbers. There are some great coins, in that thread, and its namesake was a great person and passionate collector.

I think I did years ago. I can't recall anymore. Not that big a fan of barbers. A thread that long on a topic I don't love likely wouldn't hold my interest.

  • pcgscacgoldpcgscacgold Posts: 2,943 ✭✭✭✭✭

No interest in the series but I do find Barber Proof coins to be appealing.

  • ChangeInHistoryChangeInHistory Posts: 3,069 ✭✭✭✭✭

I'm not a Barber collector, but I've opened it a few times - there are lots of nice coins posted.

I applaud the Barber collectors for keeping the thread going for their departed friend. It is a nice tribute to MFH and I like to see it still going.

  • lkeneficlkenefic Posts: 8,169 ✭✭✭✭✭

I open the MFH Barber thread as much as I open the Seated Liberty thread... a couple of times a month, or so. Whereas I don't collect Barbers as a series, there are a lot if super nice coins in that thread and its definitely worth a look if you're collecting pieces for a type set. Everything from high end MS coins to Everyman coins .. I like it!!
