I like it as a 64+ due to the line through E pluribus unum. Due to the age of the holder, strike and it is a common date, I can see it in a 65 holder but would prefer a 64 as I am not sold on the luster with the photo quality
Easy 65 and possibly 66 depending on the nature of the reverse scratch (coin or holder).

I'm thinking it's in a 65 holder, because if it was in anything higher you wouldn't want it out of the existing slab. The reverse tells me "leave it". If it's a 64 holder it's a judgement call, but again the reverse will hold it back imo. Black streak kills it. I say leave it.
The line through E Pluribus is a scratch on the holder, I can see the reflection and shadow of it. It's a very clean MS-65. Might go 65+ with a decent shot at 66 today.

It's not mine. I'm just guessing at it. I think the OP bought it as a strong 65 with hopes of getting an upgrade. They may have a decent shot, but without seeing it in hand, it's all just a guess.

I would say 65 based on the pictures... Better pictures, without the golden glow and a bit more clarity, could change that assessment. Cheers, RickO

Extremely attractive obverse, for sure.

65, not bad.

Assuming the line through E-PL is on the holder, I'll go 66.
Based on those images I can't see it being lower than that.

MS65. The reverse precludes higher, IMO. Clean obverse!
66 if the line on the reverse is not a scratch on the coin. If it is a scratch then I say 64

Is the black mark on the rev on the coin or the holder? Obv looks super clean.
65+. Maybe 66, depending on the nature of the black streak.

With that clean obverse but "iffy" reverse I'll say 65
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
Obverse looks nearly flawless, the reverse has some issues. If the luster is there, I could see 66.
MS65. Nice and clean if the pictures are accurate to the coin in-hand.

I would think this one is a 66
Super clean cheek, but I think 65 would be it's grade.

I like it as a nice 65.
I was thinking solid 66 until I looked at the reverse.
Then I revised it to 65.
Could go either way I guess.

66 even with the black streak on the Reverse.
The reverse is what brings the grade down IMHO. 66 cheek in hand all day long!
Thanks all!

I still think it’s a 66. That’s a gorgeous coin!

I like that particular holder from NGC. I have a Morgan in the same holder, I’d leave it alone. Maybe send for a sticker…
They were tight back then. That holder is something like c.1998-2001 era.
