Mantle looks good Payton I do not like top right corner, odd wear(or was more worn then cut) is a big give away. And bottom shoots down. Payton is really cut up
Thanks - I started to see it after it came back. Hoping the eBay guy gets it and gives me a refund!!

While we’re at it, how does this 58 Mantle look? It doesn’t look perfect enough to be trimmed, but if it is, I’d rather know now and submit refund request.
My kind of card!
Looks good to me and easily covers what you owe for the advice. 😉
Good luck
I think I’m going to be in your ear asking for advice, so think of a fee. Wait, please don’t do that. The whole reason I stormed back into cards was that I’ve been on medical leave from surgery, for which I need another. 😁. I will pay it off karmically in the future. And may you enjoy good karma for your sage advice. Truly. Thanks!
There are a lot of bad sellers and a lot of fake cards so be careful. Welcome back and if its to good to be true run and run fast. Mint cards of key cards are nearly impossible to find today.

Agree and had that thought myself. Auctioneer I bought from is legitimate antique auction house, he and his uncle are collectors. Assume the uncle passed away and they are selling off his cards. Got some great stuff. Sounded like, of the four auctions they had just for his cards, there are still many more of the 40 sets and 50k (or more) cards he’d collected. Lots of older PSA 8, 9 and 10 slabs of old sets.
Don’t think it was an act of malice on his part, but, lesson learned.
Well, as most of you suggested, the card was deemed trimmed by a second grading company. Thanks for all of your advice and opinions. Next time I have something too good to be true, I’ll post it here.
Oh, and anyone want to buy a perfectly centered 69 Mantle that is authentic, but trimmed? 😁
thats all ya can do! but kudos for being a good sport throughout the entirety of this thread. seriously.
Thanks for that and for teaching me a lesson.
Also, the guy is cutting me check for my purchase - think he’s a good sport too. Still out $500 for grading, but happy to have the $2250 back. Classy on his part.

Is he letting you keep the card for your pissed away grading fee troubles?

Actually, yeah. I offered to return it with my own postage and he said “keep it.” Not sure what I should do with it. May sell as “trimmed” and “will not grade” on eBay, but not sure where to price it. Definitely looks nice if it were in a binder or something.

Will submit the Mantle in the next batch. 🤞
