Hello- newbie here. Just found a dime in my car that seems to have an error. There are ridges along the silver edge, but not the copper part? The dime has a lighter feel to it than others, as well. I googled and couldn't find if this was a common/known error or not. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!
The edge has been worn away by something, it is post mint damage (PMD) and did not leave the mint that way.
thanks for your input (and for the welcome!)
Alot of time people will start to try to make rings from coins by flattening the edges with a hammer first - then give up after they find out how much work/time it takes

...I wish I had so much time on my hands, lol.
I've seen i coins in this condimany , I was told it is real common for dimes and no real error at all.

Definitely a man altered coin.
Rubbing the coin on a buffing wheel will give you this type of damage.
Spend it.
