2020 P Dime Error?

Hello- newbie here. Just found a dime in my car that seems to have an error. There are ridges along the silver edge, but not the copper part? The dime has a lighter feel to it than others, as well. I googled and couldn't find if this was a common/known error or not. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum! :)

The edge has been worn away by something, it is post mint damage (PMD) and did not leave the mint that way.

  • thanks for your input (and for the welcome!)

Alot of time people will start to try to make rings from coins by flattening the edges with a hammer first - then give up after they find out how much work/time it takes

    Definitely a man altered coin.
Rubbing the coin on a buffing wheel will give you this type of damage.
    Spend it.
