Massachusetts meet up

gumby1234gumby1234 Posts: 5,591 ✭✭✭✭✭

I was wondering if Massachusetts members would want to get together and meet somewhere like a Starbucks. We could each bring a few coins to show and talk coins with each other. It would be nice to meet a few members. Any thoughts on this?

I prefer beer myself but didn't want to give anyone the wrong impression. I'm in Quincy about 10 mins south of Boston.

You could always meet at the monthly meeting of the Boston Numismatic Society. That might be a nice place to chat about coins. They meet in the Waltham area.

Oh, and they have coffee and refreshments (at least they did when I was a member before relocating)

@Oldhoopster would we need to be members there? I know I am not.

If there is a meeting of Massachusetts members, please provide a summary report. Including the approximate gallons of beer consumed.... :D;) Cheers, RickO

Anybody can go to a meeting. If you're interested, go back the following month and apply for membership. Even though I moved in late 2008, I still send in my $10 annual dues.

IMO, coin clubs are fantastic places to learn about coins, discuss coins, make contacts, find mentors if you're new, buy and sell a few things, share your new purchases, etc. I've belonged to a number over the years.

You sound like you want to get together with some like minded people and discuss coins. That's what a coin club is all about. Why reinvent the wheel?

No reinventing just beer and burgers or something

So anybody have a plan where some of us could meet, have some food and beer and talk coins?
