Just looked up their website, and it looks like it’s a go. Thursday early bird and general admission Fri/Sat/Sun. Over 200 dealers listed. Has been a great show in the past. If you are unvaccinated, be aware that Dalton and nearby Chattanooga are experiencing a spike in COVID cases.
Seems lots of people are bailing on the show due to Covid. I had a good customer that was going to fly in but cancelled due to Covid and he is vaccinated. IMHO there was absolutely no buzz today, quite the change from the GNA show in April. I'm sure some of it could be due to it being on the heels of the ANA, but much quieter than I expected. Spent 1/2 a day trying to buy...not much to buy and plan on paying up for the nice stuff I like!
Pubic attendance is way off. I suspect it will be a ghost town tomorrow. Sold a few and bought quite a few goodies! Buying vrs. selling ='s 4-1 for me so far dollar wise.
My 1st time setting up there, but public attendance seemed really weak! Did ok in terms of sales, however from what i had heard (about it being a great killer show) my expectations were not met.
Postcards. If they did not mail out the postcards, that could be a big deal. I believe there is a new bourse chairperson. Hmm......
Well here is my mini show report......
Started off great on thurs for set up. Lots of good , strong wholesale activity though im sure it helped i had just bought a fresh collection. Then , had to move tables as they had doubled up dealers on the same table and the other guy had been there for "years" .....
Yeah moving sucked!
Did a prearranged deal for a group of about thirty notes and 3 coins inc an s vdb and a morgan toner.
Seemed some national dealers were unable to make it , covid affects from the ana???????
Not much bullion seemed to be moving, key dates were in constant demand, paper money strong , especially 500 and 1000 notes.
I saw not one exciting holder. No black ngc, a couple of doilys i recall with gold em, so they were not cheap either way
Someone, actually a group of young dealers ( several nice young guys out husting to make things happen) had a nice little 1909 rattler 4 pc set. 09. 09s. 09 vdb. 09 s vdb. The s vdb lacked eye appeal to me. Maybe i can free the 9s from the group!!!
Thankfully the AC was on strong cause its hot down here!
I think most dealers are happy enoigh already, but we always WANT MORE $$$$$$.
Ricko hope this is enough.
I guess i shoulda started new theead. Oh well!!!
Anyone,at the show , stop by and say hi , i am at table L2

Yes. I was hoping to go Saturday, but it's not looking good. I have a few friends that went today. Waiting for some reports.
Looks like it is on. Reports please.
I wanted to go tomorrow but am waiting until Saturday

So far , so good. It was a good day of selling , did a bit of buying.
Well let's have some reports..... Those one liners are not super informative...
Cheers, RickO
Did anybody go today?
What was it like?

I think everyone had the same idea as you. Usually there are 100-200 people waiting to get in when the show opens. Today there was probably 20-30.
