Do I have anything here? Bicentennial "Drummer Boy" Quarter Mint Errors, A struck through grease error on the drum was what first made this coin standout. Just wondering, no mean replies please...

The top of the drum is the highest point on the quarter and the place that wears down first. Just about all of the circulated ones look like that.

Yes, this looks like an overworked die with wear. Even if there was a tiny amount of grease fill it would carry no premium.

Many if not most of these coins were weakly struck on the drum to start with. They looked worn from the beginning.
Thank you for your reply. I collet 76 quarters, they don't see them wear like this on them. I'll look at some more.
Check your 1976-D quarters for the Doubled Die obverse #1. I have found two in 40 years of searching. They're very rare and very valuable.

This one is mine. Also check Variety Vista.
Notice how Washington's head on the obverse is opposite the drum on the reverse. It takes a lot if metal to fill both devices. You just have a weak strike.
Ok, thanks. I thought it was from wear. Most of the circulated ones I see have that. Like these 2 I just found in a roll of quarters last week. I just checked them for the DDO, but they aren’t 🌞

I have a cigar box with a bunch of these quarters (saved from years ago).... Will have to check for the DDO. That box has not even been opened in over twenty years. Should be interesting. Cheers, RickO
Thanks to all for replies and info, glad that I asked, Joe
The proof shows the difference in strike

Here are (3) from my archive that I sold:

Still residing in error archive.
25c dies were my favorite pairing of the three special issues made for 1975 & 1976

You would need to provide more details including photos, but if you found it in circulation it is most likely worth 25 cents.
@Ashleyleigh2014... Welcome aboard. We will need pictures to properly assess your quarter. That being said, it likely is a standard issue and worth 25 cents. Cheers, RickO
Handy link to top auction error sales.
Thank You Very Much Mike Byers !
LindyS - you are welcome!

Great '76 quarter thread.
Nobody has mentioned, or is it me, these are more in "High Relief" than other quarters. Aren't they?
