The “Field of Dreams” game was a lot of fun.

I tuned into the “Field of Dreams” game between the White Sox and Yankees last night mainly for the novelty. As it turned out, it was quite entertaining. It was fun to see a major league game played in the middle of a cornfield with a small crowd of 8,000 fans. In a way it was a throw back to baseball’s early days.
The ninth inning was worth the price of admission. The White Sox were ahead 7 to 4. The Yankees banged out two, two run homers with two outs to take an 8 to 7 lead. In the bottom of the 9th. The White Sox hit a two run homer to make it a walk-off win.

Great game. I think the players enjoyed it as well.
They have committed to one next year.

I flipped it on a couple times, was neat to see for sure. Redefined the big green monster.
I actually tuned in for a while, I loved the cornfield and the smaller crowd, it had an early 1900s feel to it.
I watched Sportscenter for a bit while I waited for the Celtics summer league game to start and they kept going on and on with the corn jokes while talking about this game. My demented mind thought it would be funny to have the Children of the Corn come walking out of center field in between pitches and just totally creep out everyone watching.
