Please all opinions and suggestions are highly valued. Thank you all in advance for your input. Is this a doubled ear? I can find no information online that this is a recognized error. If any of you believe it might be a doubled
, what do I do and who do I contact?

Welcome aboard.
Do some googling prior to asking.
How are you going to learn what is or what is not.
I am not saying to not ask but you need to educate yourself in your future endeavors.

Kennedys are my quest...
What should I have googled?
Can you post a full on shot of the coin?
This isn’t so much a google question now since you have a 88-D from pcgs to look at
The question is how to explain what you see
All I can say Wayne is I appreciate the comment and please forgive a new collector. If this picture on the right is a double ear, then my newbie eyes think the picture on the left is one as well.
Welcome aboard!
Welcome! I recommend this website to check all 20th century doubled dies-http://www.varietyvista.com/
There's many excellent images of all known doubled dies. I believe you've already found it, tho.
Pic of full coin as big as you can make it and crop out any white space borders
Welcome. You’re in the right place. Your question shows a strong interest. Stick around.
Welcome to the forum.
Keep on hunting! Get yourself a Cherrypickers Guide. Kinda pricey, Look around. Once again, Welcome aboard.

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.May as well post a full on shot of the reverse too
Welcome to the forum!
It is easy to see why you have questions about this one.
My guess is machine doubling.
It looks like there may be some pushed up metal.
I'm not sure what it is but it would confuse me, too. That said I don't think it's a doubled die.
Ken Potter on Coneca claims a 1988 doubled ear Lincoln exists. Yours looks like it to me. Congrats if so.

ifthevamzarockin, when I angle the coin slightly left or right, there are places that I could only describe as sparkling. One of them is the entire 2nd back portion of the may or may not be another earlobe. I do not know if this has any significance bit it is different.
Ken Potter's 1988 seems to be a Philadelphia coin. OP's is a Denver.
Ken Potter's website is an excellent reference with lots of images! CoinFacts and NGC Varieties are pretty good sources as well, and I would recommend "buying the book" Cherry Pickers Guide to Varieties Vol i & II. These are the sources that PCGS attributors use for the coins that they will attribute https://www.pcgs.com/varietyfaq

You are correct, my bad. Although the doubling still is somewhat evident. I believe I would send it to VV to have it verified or denied.

anyone else?
before posting on variety vista/coneca the full front and reverse are not well lit. the obverse is too dark and the reverse has harsh lighting.
doubled dies have features that are "doubles" of the real thing in that the shape would be the same. you have the coin in hand, you have to question yourself if the ear is the same shape as the regular one.
