Failed Moderation

It is laughable when you get this…
“It's a shame when you open a discussion titled "ANA Show Report #1 - Travel Day" only to find a long string of photos infused with political jabs. We're leaving this up to show folks what in considered political (and misleading).
There are plenty of places one can go to rant on politics and let off steam.
The PCGS Coin Forum IS NOT that place.”
For a satirical post meant to bring some humor to the resumption of somewhat normal times in the hobby, you have only proven that 291fifth, who was once the runaway leader in the forum race to being crowned ‘King Dullard’ is now in a legitimate foot race to the bottom.
Perhaps the fact that over three times as many people noted enjoying the post for the apolitical pandemic satire that it actually represented, than rushed to pay sheepish, sycophantic subservience to your nonsensical comment, should shake you into the realization that rather than prove that you fail to understand my post, you should have been attempting to achieve moderation success over on the BST where Teddy and Mason were scamming collectors out of their hard earned money…..for the SECOND time. At very least, you should educate yourself about the difference between self deprecating humor and political jab. (How does one politically jab himself?) But no.
Or you could have closed out the two threads I created two years ago that were clearly satirical and just like this show report. But no.
Or you could have managed to prevent robylu52 etal from flooding the board with endless CAC bashing threads without me having to have spoon fed you the evidence that multiple accounts were the same person(s). But no.
So leave the thread and your comment at the end up for educational purposes because you are memorializing something, just not what you intended. As I said in the satirical thread, nothing is more amusing than someone who is obtuse, and proud of it.
Cue the sycophants and the ban.

This post is ill advised. Better to just accept it and move on.
Please reconsider and delete it. No good can come of this.
Unfortunately, while most (I suspect) found your post funny/amusing, all it takes is a few people who didn't to get it shut down. Especially if one such person is a moderator.
I urge you to delete or tone down your post above because it would be a shame to lose you as a member here.

I read your previously closed thread and could see both sides of what you are referencing. Unfortunately, in today's charged environment, even if 99% of us "get it" or have "no problem" with it, the remainder are likely to troll you and then we might have a mass banning due to the collateral damage.
As for this thread, it just seems like the ill-advised musings of a whining jackalope.

It’s ok to live in your own world but I don’t think it’s proper to share nazis on this forum. Just a little thinking about how others may feel. Common courtesy

I like to ride a roller coaster as it is barreling down steep and fast. This thread has that feel. Jump in and tighten your seatbelt. This may be the post of the day care of panex. Do the moderators keep bankers hours, or are they always on the prowl day and night? To echo a comment above—nazis in any coin show thread….not the best idea of the day.
But I do commend and fully support calling bs when you see it, feel it or experience it. And I think the slight from the mods had a very much soapbox aura to it. Humor and satire are needed now moreso than ever before with the current political and sickness/co-vid/vaccine/cancel/shaming lies atmosphere the msm is force-feeding us. Being unique and quirky and having the smarts and wit to convey a story from the op is truly refreshing. I pray for your continued presence here, and honestly all of ours at the rate things are going in 24 hours from now. The ANA WFOM is gonna get rolling here soon in Chicago…I hope good accurate threads will dominate the forum with lots of pictures and reports on the exhibits.
Chance favors the prepared mind.
Bottom line is this forum is paid for and moderated by our host. If you don't agree with their rules you have the right to leave just like they have the right to close your thread.
They post the rules clearly and didn't ban you. Instead of chastising the Moderator you should suck it up buttercup and be grateful.
Since it is clear you are upset and blinded by your opinions perhaps you should heed the advice of others and delete this thread and your comments before you are banned.
How you feel ok about posting the pics you did is beyond my comprehension. Quite frankly I was shocked by the support you received from other members.
To be clear, I didn't see the other thread until it was closed but I agree with the Moderator for closing it.
The "Show Report" you pushed the envelope. Really pushed it. Let that be enough. It got closed. Been there done that. Let it go. Don't tit for tat. This thread crosses all the lines and is nothing more then death by moderator. You're better then that

The other thread was a sincere effort at humor that obviously offended someone.
This thread is a reckless appeal to get banned. It's too bad.
Believe it or not as someone who has “interacted” with the mods a bit. I believe they do deploy ridged objectivity with infractions but also consider the source and their other contributions to the board when defining the limits a wee-bit. That said they maintain the sole right to define infractions and it isn’t a negotiation depending on your views of certain topics. They very well may be on the other side fence on a issue or boundary but it is your responsibility to comply. If they have a pet peeve, poster beware. All that said they do a pretty good job and most bannings are obvious to all if not sad for a few.
Their enforcement will always be dependent on the infraction coming to their attention be it notice or report which are highly variable to people with real day jobs.
And at the risk of being obtuse, the humor was trite at best. It wasn’t me who got your post closed, it was your bloviating

It was a few here that got it closed. They told the moderator otherwise they (the moderator) would not have read it. I didn't read it till after it was closed, it's not a topic I cared about.
Epic Idealistic Rant.
Probably, but there were two things in there that are definite no-no's. There was clear political content and there were mid-20th century Germans in uniforms.
this thread is just a train wreck waiting to happen

I am never jealous of what other own or have. I am only somewhat envious of two things. One is travel. I love to travel and wish I could more often, so I get a bit jealous when others speak of their adventures. Also writing. panexpoguy and to a lesser extent Jessup are two of the finest writers on this forum. I enjoy the way they bring theater of the mind into words on a computer screen.
I'd hate to see either of them write themselves off of this forum.

Well, that's offensive.

I agree. There were 2 things that were a no no.
My advice-Get over it. I posted a poll a while back and someone whined to a mod about the comments and got it closed, but you don't see me getting all butthurt and making a whine-baby thread about it.

Who the heck's Teddy and Mason? What did I miss, again?
The reasons the OP was given a warning were clearly stated in the personal message that was publicized.
- The thread was POLITICAL
- The thread was MISLEADING
Could you imagine if the forum guidelines were based on some of the suggestions this OP outlined? What would this forum become if we let political and misleading posts stand just because "three times as many people" may have ENJOYED the post?
No sir, this was NOT failed moderation.
This is how moderation is implemented.
