Can't really get a feel for the surfaces through the glare and the toning.

I'll go out on the limb and say has mint luster - MS63

Well seeing that you are the only guesser I guess I should reveal. It is in an old holder and grades MS66.

I probably would have guessed 64 from your photos. Not sure it would cross at 66, but would need to see it in hand.
BTW, you might draw more attention if you put a description of the coin in your thread title.
@CoinJunkie yeah my photos are crap like usual. I am still looking for a coin photographer in the Boston area. No luck yet.
Edit- My photography skills can make any coin look bad

The coin doesn't look unattractive in your photos, but it's just hard to evaluate the surface quality. It should fetch a nice premium for the color.
The colors are pretty, but they’re also broken up. The coin may get some premium for the toning, but I wouldn’t expect much if I’m being honest.
I'd expect the coin to fetch at least double an untoned example, which may not be that impressive given the low base price.
It could, but I’d say that’s too much. If you like color I could understand buying this over a white one, but I think the combination of timing breaks and the color not being otherwise stupendous tale away much of the premium. At least for me.
You may be right. Color premiums tend to be quite variable depending on selling venue, quality of photos, and phase of the moon...
I didn’t guess because I couldn’t really get a good feel for how lustrous the coin is. If the luster is there, I have no problem with a 66. If it is muted, I’d call it a 64.
@cameonut2011 it has plenty of luster.

Based on the pictures, I am surprised at the grade.... And no, I could not take better pictures.
Cheers, RickO
Agreed. I think Roosies also come in a bit of a strange class. Because many aren't expensive in the first place and they're pretty readily available with color, my experience is that it takes a bit more for a Roosie to command a premium than coins from other series. I haven't bought one in a while, but when I was more actively buying (or at least looking at) such coins, I was surprised that even the really nice ones didn't always command that much, where in another series such a coin could be a mini fortune.
MS 65, MS 66 range. Can't tell if it's full bands from pics.
The toning pattern is distracting. MS66 seems high.
Wow!. And that's why I'm not a coin grader - LOL!
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
Not that I don't believe you but could you post a picture of the coin in the holder. I picked up these two MS67 beauties yesterday for my old holder collection but I'm not sure they would even cross at MS60:
@pointfivezero Most holders that aren't one of the top 3, maybe 4 grading services were not properly graded. I will take a slab pic when I get home.
Edit - that 79S morgan doesn't even look PL nevermind DMPL

@gumby1234 - yes, I totally agree. In this case, I am just buying the plastic and not the (clearly) over-graded coins.
Thanks for offering to post a picture.

Thanks @gumby1234. Nice looking Roosie in an old soapbox slab.
Nice one!
@pointfivezero Except for a couple of recent purchases all of my slabs are in old holders. NGC and Anacs. I recently sold my old rattlers.
