Perhaps it’s a new type of collecting. Some people collect very low grade slabbed coins. I’m not sure what to call this type of collecting but I’m sure there are some here can help. 🤓

I’m surprised the camera crew, at PCGS, were able to hold steady enough to focus on the shot, while trying to contain their laughter. There was likely a lot of hand sanitizer involved. :D

Coin was so ugly, they had to grease it to get it and hammer it to go into collar and it stained it. Therefore premint damage.

You have to take that around to coin shops and to coin dealers at shows and ask them how much they would pay for it. Then you have to report back all of the different responses. It could be a year long study worth a ton!

I might give him a quarter for it, but he'd have to do the work of removing it from the plastic! B)

In all seriousness and I am curious, what do you think the grader's mindset when something like this shows up on their desk? Is it an insult? Is there an eye roll prior to looking through the loupe?

Money is money though, from the business standpoint.

Their eyes roll when they see my return address on the box. But I will say I have gotten progressively better…
