Are there any good coin photographers in the Boston area??? I am tired of trying to get good photos of my coins. My pics all come out like crap.

I would have Pedzola take them he does a wonderful job and a great guy. I definitely plan on having more of my collection photographed by Pedzola.

Pawtucket is in Rhode Island. Maybe worth a drive to meet him and drop off a few coins for him to photo. Its the Shipping and insurance both ways that a killer.

Practice, practice, practice. You could take a photography course. It really is not that hard. Watch a few you tube videos, etc. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Sometimes it takes a while to figure out the lighting, focus, etc. Time taking adjusting things such as color, focus, brightness, contrast and a bunch of other stuff can be frustrating. It is not something that one can learn overnight. When you get it down it will almost come naturally. Photography is something that you have to want to learn. Took me 50 years to learn it and it still takes me a few minutes to set up good picture taking settings on a camera. Hiring some pro may cost you more than the coin is worth.

You could send them to PCGS for grading and get the true view photography.

@rec78 i have one coin with a TruView and it looks nice, but doesn't look like the actual coin in hand. I have an 1870 Half Dime that is a circulation strike that looks like a proof. Impossible for me to get decent photos of it. A professional photo would be awesome. Shipping and insurance both ways are killer. Hoping to find somewhere close to Boston so I can drop it off and pick it up. I am always nervous mailing coins anyways.

If TruView doesn't do it for you, I don't know what will. Photography is a very difficult pursuit, but I am sure that there is an expert out there somewhere. Sorry to be of no help.
