NEWP: 1900 $5 Gold Liberty Half Eagle

I just picked this pretty little $5 piece. Looks original and AU to me.
Thoughts, opinions are welcome.

Nice! Looks like it's AU55 or 58 on a good day.

Bite into it make sure it’s gold.
Nice looking AU coin in AU55...(see what I did there?)
Cheers, RickO
Nice pick up! 👍

Nice AU. In numismatics, there's pre-1933 gold then there's everything else...

Au 55
58 CAC. Nice pickup
A "B" coin, solid but unexciting from the moment it left the dies.
We've all seen a few .worse in a 61 holder. If so, likely dipped
It's a hollow request because the value-added of a TPG grade is, at this quality level, less than the cost of grading. With images not created, it'd be hard to find much useful imagery of a P-mint AU55 (or 58 or 61) "B" from '00-'02. If this were a better date (spread-wise) 55 "B" coin in a rattler, It would have been cracked long ago
Nice appealing skin on that one.
Worst that happens is it's chocolate!
Or you break a tooth.
AU58
High AU.

Very NICE high AU!
I love it when a Walker Guy steps out of his comfort zone.
It can be a beautiful thing.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

choice AU, looks like it has nice rose-gold color if I'm reading the photos right.
Listen to the colonel.
Here's my take. Worn die, chatter, wear.

Nice coin. CACable at 55, but I'd leave it raw.
Kind of agree... probably AU58 but I have quite a few with similar mintage that I have left unslabbed. Never seen a bad piece of pre-1933 gold. I'd have grabbed it at a small premium over gold if I had crossed paths with it.

Thanks for the comments all. It's just going into the 50 gallon drum with the rest of em'. Not interested in having it graded...

AU-58?
Nice luster but too much going on to be a 58. 55 at best
