Haven't been on here in A LONG TIME!
Hate to disappoint everyone, but I could not make the National this year, so I will not be giving daily reports of the action. Hopefully someone else can take up that task.
Going to miss seeing some of the usuals, but I'll be watching for updates.
Also, if anyone could keep an eye out for CPAMike and his socks - pictures would be greatly appreciated. That had become quite the annual update as well, probably one of my favorite parts of the show.

Got you covered. Driving in tomorrow and will take photos and post Friday and Saturday. BBCE booth for sure plus Kurt’s booth and any big time cards.
the heritage red cobb (w every back possible) display is something else!
@cubfan89 Those are some great pictures!! Thanks.
looks like bbce listed some photos on his facebook page
he has a few 1971 boxes in different series (1, 4, 5, 6). he has some in an outer box i havent seen before that mentions win the topps baseball card contest. i also saw a 1968 wax box and some 1973 wax boxes too.
nice stuff
I'm not at the show. People on other forums said it was crowded, but this video doesn't show it anymore crowded that any other year.

Looks like all three 1971 Topps boxes sold yesterday. BBCE does still have a 1971 OPC box priced at $75,000 for sale.
Did the 71 FB Cello box sell also?
PC Walter Payton - Bear Down!
How much is that?
I saw the photo of $165k cash paid for a 1986 bkb box. Cool photo
Mike sent me pics of it without price on Tuesday. Haven't heard back from my buddies there if it sold and for how much.
PC Walter Payton - Bear Down!
Here it is
PC Walter Payton - Bear Down!
I guessed at least 70...
PC Walter Payton - Bear Down!
dear santa,
see all the above.
I have an empty box…probably worth a little tiny bit less, though.
😉
Curious about the rare, mysterious and beautiful 1951 Wheaties Premium Photos?

Nah..probably worth the same with the bbce wrap
I noticed this old photo on. Bbce facebook...what year basketball is this box?
1973/74 basketball and it appears to be the 36 pack box not 24. John
Current obsession, all things Topps 1969 - 1972
They sold as a package for $500k before I even arrived at the show on Thursday at the opening...not that I was going to pull the trigger on that one.
I wanted to buy BBCE's autographed Team USA Skybox PSA/DNA set that was priced at $15k. I tried to negotiate via Facebook but for the first time in years, they were not selling anything via Facebook. All items at the show were only for sale at the show. Sports Card Investors ended up buying the set for $12k and posted the deal on YouTube. Color me disappointed because I would have offered $13k. But having that content on YouTube is amazing marketing for BBCE. I really, really wanted to add that one of a kind set to my collection.

The biggest lesson I've learned in this hobby, and in life, is that if you have a strong conviction, you owe it to yourself to see it through. Don't sell yourself, or your investments, short. Unless the facts change. Then sell it all.
Looks like loads of junk wax and graded junk wax packs at BBCE booth. Not like in the past for sure. Never thought I would see the day but here it is. Understandable since vintage wax has dried up.
i dont blame him one bit. get while the getting is (still kinda) good!
and that usa basketball set was a steal, imo.
weirdest bubble ever! ®
Steve had a lot of awesome vintage unopened product from the 1970s, too.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
I’ll post some pictures when I get home tomorrow, but even though I haven’t crossed off much off my want list I still seem to be already going over my budget…
Anyone know if he has any 1977 baseball wax packs and what they are selling for? Having a hard time finding them lately
This may be the best picture I've ever seen of a Wagner.....it just glows!
Steve
Some fun pics below.
A couple of random observations:
There were a ton of younger people at the show, which I thought was great. It also may have just been me, but I saw a lot more father/mother & son/daughters enjoying the show.
The younger crowd were hustling for deals before and after the show. I asked some of the dealers and they told me they were getting more trade requests for their modern for vintage GOATs.
A big winner at the show were the folks selling pelican cases. I saw a ton of people walking around with these, and most of the traders after the show using them.
Anyways - on to the pictures!
Large turnout on day 1!
Fun stuff for sale.
I picked up a few vintage oddball Star Wars, but there wasn’t much I could find. Still there was some great eye candy.
Lastly, I am a huge rock fan and this was the coolest thing I saw at the show. The hand written first draft of Kashmir by Robert Plant on hotel stationary. If only I had $600k…
No wonder I didn't have the feeling I was being followed during the show. Now you'll just have to wait until AC for updated photos, LOL.

Collecting:
Any unopened Baseball cello and rack packs and boxes from the 1970's and early 1980s.
yeah - my watchers let me down, you were able to stay away from them
next year you're doomed
no reprint pictures for me?
Sorry no pictures of 1915 cracker jack for this year🤣 Still get a chuckle from that line from the National in Cleveland from a few years ago.
