What do you think? I am debating if I should put it in PCGS plastic or not.

It looks like it has booming luster. No marks or spots and well struck. Probably 65 at least.

Worth slabbing IMO, nice coin and should score a pretty high grade. I see an odd lump around Pluribus Unum, if any Buffalo experts could explain what it is I would be interested.

Dont see any less than a 66, probably a 67.

That is a die clash from where the neck meets the chin on the obverse, as such-

Not assuming you were going to sell it but a 65 just went for 1600 on GC

I did not see that one, I'll have to go look at it.

The lump is what remains from an attempt to repair a die clash. Clashes in that area leave inverse remnants of E PLURIBUS UNUM under Iron Tails' chin on the obverse.

Nickels that are clashed showing remnants of the clash are said to have "chin whiskers". If you look real close at the area under the chin, you'll see abrasion lines from the attempt to remove them.

    It's a neat die clash.

Looks nice. I'll guess 65 but would not be surprised if it grades 66.

Thanks for playing along all. The coin has very nice luster and only minute flaws. It's a little later die state than I usually collect but I saw this one for sale and kept going back to it so I picked it up.

Just saw this thread. I was gonna guess 66.......... honest! :)

    Nice coin.

Nice coin, leave it where it is, it looks good in that older ngc holder..... many collectors are generally less enamoured with coins in tab holders from either service.

Yes-the die state isn't ideal IMO but I think MS66 is about right gradewise.

I missed the reveal but my first thought was 65. I can see 66 on this one. Awesome piece.
