My coin clock project - which clock face?

ElmerFusterpuckElmerFusterpuck Posts: 4,627 ✭✭✭✭✭

I'm getting closer to completing this project and I have an 11:00 toner coming in soon. The 9:00 slot was recently filled in courtesy of @david3142, That leaves just the 2:00 and 8:00 spots open. Patience is definitely a virtue here!

I think a white background draws the eye to the coins.

Another vote for A. When I think of clock faces, I always think of white backgrounds I guess.

A, but a big blast white Morgan Image as the clock background might work too, especially if it’s semi-transparent with a white background

NGC white gasket or NGC black one. As a background, especially for silver, it's A. It accents the silver-white areas. Looks to me like the intensity of the blues is lessened and the reds are brighter when framed by the black background.

    Nice crescents! ;)

    A. The coins are more impressive displayed on white/

My preference is the white background (A)....The black seems to 'hide' the coin colors. Cheers, RickO

Silver on white maybe silver on black maybe. I think the lighting used will have a lot to say about background. Back lit, side lighting , track lights. Those who know will perhaps be kind enough to help 😊. Still thinking B. There’s some interesting possibilities with backlighting. Thanks

I like white for copper and black for silver, gold, and copper-nickel.

Awesome project! I like A. I would also be tempted to swap coin positions, the 3 o'clock coin swapping with the 9 o'clock coin, and see how that looks.
