Bay State Coin Show - July 30-31

Anyone going?

I'm not in the market for much but I may go for amusement. Who knows, something might catch my attention. I wish they had a list of dealers attending but I can't find one. If I recall correctly a couple years ago there were about 90 tables.

I was planning on going until I saw they raised their admission fee to $9 (used to be $6). I likely was just going to browse and not buy anything so it’s not really worth almost $10 to do that.

Yeah, the admission fee is a nuisance. But I just view it as the cost of entertainment. A couple days ago I spent $13.50 on a movie ticket. Same thing.

At least the parking is free at the new location. When it was in downtown Boston I remember shelling out close to $20 just for parking. I have almost always been able to find something at this show, and when it's over you can stop at the Chick Fil A on your way back to 495. Doesn't get much better than that!

I’ll be there! $3 increase in admission fee is almost negligible even for just one day

Many promoters don’t want browsers and that’s why they charge admission

With that said I think they do offer discount coupons and even free passes

I was thinking about this again and you know what? I changed my mind and will be going now. It’s been almost two years since I went to a coin show so the $9 will be worth it just to see a show again after so long. I may even end up buying something too especially since I haven’t been buying much in the way of coins since pandemic began.

This if the first time I head of this show, just looking it up, turns out it’s in Boston near we’re I live 😀. Might go but not sure since usually I plan for these shows about a month in advanced

We'll be there starting on Friday. Unfortunate timing with a Dallas show will make us miss setup.

Did anyone go today? I didn't make it and I am considering going tomorrow. But I've been conditioned that the last day of a show is a ghost town and any good and fairly priced coins are long gone by then Any thoughts?

I went today. I had a great time. I ended up buying a Greek Owl and a few cheap coins (Carver-Washington half dollar and two loose circulated common date Indian Head Cents).

Show was busier than I thought. Good crowd all day. We still have plenty of great coins available so bring your pocketbook and come on down!

Been going to the show for a long time. It used to be in Boston. I found spending $18.00 for my wife and I to go in to be a bit expensive. The food concession was available, but there wasn't any seating. Might have been due to the covid concerns. Miss seeing a room with an exhibitor, but the Barber people were there. There were quite a few dealers though and it did make for a good bourse.
