If this one was graded 62, I would not crack it out. As for my grade, I would have a very difficult time grading the image a 61... Hopefully it looks better in hand and others here are seeing something that I am not. As to Stuart's initial comments, I tend to believe that if this was in a PCGS rattler or an OGH, we would be looking at 58.
Not trying to be difficult... just calling them the way I see it.

Stuart, I think he did. His answer was "I have no plans to sell it and according to Peter Schiff gold will be at $15,000 by the end of the year."
Paraphrased: "I don't care if it's easier to sell in a top tier slab, as according to Peter Schiff, its melt value will be $7275 by the end of the year."

Thanks Mark and apologize if my tongue in cheek sarcasm was hard to follow.
I purposely bought this coin in this grade to crack it out. I’ll keep images of the coin in the holder, slab label and carefully handle the coin once’s it’s cracked. I would not do this with a much more expensive or rare coin. The sarcasm was in reference to whatever value might be lost by cracking it out will be gained by 10x when the price of gold hits $15K at the end of the year (according to Peter Schiff). Peter has been predicting the astronomical rise in the gold forever. It’s kind of a running joke among precious metals stackers. While I agree with Peter on some of his fundamental assumptions regarding the economy his sky is falling $15K gold mantra has been going on for over a decade. Unfortunately the Fed has managed to continue to pull rabbits out of a hat but the bag of tricks is almost empty according to Schiff and that $15K is right around the corner.

I crack out all my coins. Nothing crazy expensive but I want to hold them and when showing them to others allow them to hold (carefully) them rather than holding a chunk of plastic. If one happens to get rubbed, or worse dinged, no great lose to numismatics or to me financially. As some have stated “it’s typical generic gold”, “unimpressive” and probably should be in an “AU-58” holder

MS62 would be my assessment....That mark on the back of the neck... that you say is not there but on the slab, sure looks strange. Cheers, RickO
When I crack it out I’ll take some more pictures.
Why crack it out? A coin like this is easier to sell in a top tier slab.
I have no plans to sell it and according to Peter Schiff gold will be at $15,000 by the end of the year .
I wish I had a dollar for every time I have heard that.

I like Schiff, but he said that each of the last ten years. But this time is different?

Hey RickO, here are some additional photos after the crack out. I also examined that area with a 10x loop and there is nothing in that area other than some light chatter.

62 max but I wouldn't be surprised if NGC called it a 3.

I grade it perfect for an album type set.

Schiff sells books and he sells gold. He's almost as good at both as he is at understanding the true status of our economy.

Not you again! This guy man…..
Just joking
I like it as a 61.
The photos you just posted make the coin look much better, but I wouldn’t pay 63 money for that coin. 61/62 IMHO
I'll guess 63
