Very true, and the seller didn't show the front of the coin, and added in their description that it was 'silver'. Also strange that it was not graded but assigned Genuine?
I think it is a label error, since no proof W coins were made. Deserves an inquiry since looking up the cert number shows the same classification. Cheers, RickO

a database entry error?
CF app pulls it up as a W but it looks nothing like a proof imo, unless a satin.
i can't find it in pops but those are tough to plow through for this stuff (imo), especially once your start hitting the + and expanding things.

If you look up the Cert, it gives a code 88 and not a specific grade. Not sure why it was done that way but it’s not a standard grade.

I have done much business with seller. Hopefully just a goofy mistake.

dealers can get coins holdered for "genuine" notation for whatever reason the dealer wants it. possibly as a promo/giveaway
no grade coins are not going to show up in the pop reports
This does not look right to me. The Mint did not sell any W quarters so no way it's a proof.
You can look at the surfaces and tell it is not a proof
Hopefully the buyers know this
Considering, for a sub where it doesn’t pay to do this, what does one do when they come back wrong?
About all that can be done is crack them. If the seller sells them as is, they need notes in the description
.
717970 is what is throwing me off.

Had a Mariana Islands one on Epay, too. Sold for $63.86! Looks 'proof'y' to me
kinda tough to tell as i'm pretty sure those are scanned images.
