I was researching ANS & Newman Portal and old threads and came across this medal and beautiful photo

I believe this first medal of the Civil War would be the most significant Civil War medal out there because there are 2 thus collectible and its first medal status ( with the exception of the 1 and only gold specimen given to Maj Robert Anderson of course) btw does anyone know where that one is?
The ANS has some great photographers.

The first time I'm seeing, or hearing, of this one. Spectacular! As yourself, I switch off between the Newman Portal and the Numismatist archives for research on blogs that I write. I'll have to read further on this one, thanks for sharing!
Wow... that truly is a beautiful medal.... Would like to see it in hand... That faint image of the flag to the left, in the 'sky' is amazing. Cheers, RickO
That is really a stunning medal!
Neat piece. It shows up a few times in 19th century auction sale catalogs --
