National Coin Week Student Activity

Every year, the ANA creates a student activity for National Coin Week. Due to the virus pandemic, the ANA wanted an activity youngsters could complete at home. The assignment was for children to make money out of food. Many children participated and prizes were awarded to all. The ANA has a webpage where you can see some of the results. The page is growing if you would like to check back on occasion.

Some interesting entries there.... Thanks for the link. Cheers, RickO
During the 1918 epidemic, I sold original antique Coke bottles and fresh lemonade from a table in my front yard, thus making money out of food as well as from food. Hopefully, and more likely, today's kids are sharper.
Anyone who's dealt with school-age children this past year has likely invented numerous gambits to engage them. This program seems an improvement over the food fights that broke out at Summer Seminar.
edited to add: Piss and moan about the Money Show etc all you want. The Florence Schook School of Numismatics produces the foremost numismatic education on the planet. @Dreamcrusher had to appropriate funds from the ANA headquarters coffee fund to find a budget line for supplies..... Think about an online discussion between Ken Bressett, Brian Fanton (longtime ANA instructor, with both a commercial and EAC background) and Rod Gillis (ANA Educational Director and long-time instructor) about the principles behind grading. Already available. And others
My (partial) solution to the world's educational problems is to have @Dreamcrusher, @GlenHolsonbake and a bunch of savvy YNs have quarterly Zoom meetings and let us know what's what.
