American Eagle Silver $1 Proof "W" mint mark subscription question

KnellKnell Posts: 455 ✭✭✭✭✭

I enrolled 2 separate account subscription for this product on May 18th for 2 each per subscription. Would this violate the household limit of 3 US Mint posted/updated on their website?
Just finished online chat with US Mint customer service and was told that only 3 coins will be ship per enrollment.
Is this true? Will I received 4 coins total from 2 separate account of 2 each or will they cancel 1 or both order/subscription?
I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thank.s

If the two accounts are the same HH, then you will not get 2 separate orders of two. If you are lucky, you will get three. If the two accounts are different HH, then you would get 4.

I think we know once it happens

If the accounts use the same address, the HHL will be imposed. I am not sure how. 2 & 1? Just 2 and cancel the other? Unknown.

There will still be coins offered after. If they remove the HHL on another day, you will be clear.

FWIW - I just got off the phone with CS, and I got a different answer than you did.

I was told that the enrollment limits do NOT automatically 'sync' with the HOL. As such, the 25-coin limit on the 2021 Proof ASE enrollments is still in place.

    Edited for a typo.

I won't complain since this whole ordering system and HHLs recently has been a mess and I think they already know that.

but they better be ready for complaints from others if subs get 25 and day 1 folk only get 3.

I checked my sub last night or the one before and it was still over 3.

Do you expect these to sell out as quickly as the type 1's did? I am relatively new to all this, but figured out quickly that enrollments are the only way to go for these ASE's!

I am enrolled for one W ASE.... I am reasonably sure I will get one... but maybe they will send me three??? :D;) No, they won't... Cheers, RickO

    @Knell

Had to call the Mint again today. So, while I had a rep on the line, I inquired about this issue a second time.

I got the same answer as yesterday. Namely:
    ~ the 'household order limit' of 3 does not apply to enrollments;
~ the 25-coin "limit" on the 2021 Proof ASE enrollments is still in place.

For details on the 25-coin limit, see the 5/14/21 e-mail from the Mint.

I'm not so sure they will still be available. I think they sell out first day. Through not being sure how the enrollments would work, type I rolling over to type Ii, I'm enrolled for more than I want right now, but afraid to start messing with it.

So was surfing thru the channels last night and saw someone trying to pre-sale type 2 MS70 for almost $300! Almost fell out of bed! Who would buy these at that price? Not like they were trying to sell Proof 70 coin.

    Wow !!!

    4x the APMEX offering.

$230 on APMEX which seems a bit high to me. I’m guessing they snagged 5 or 10,000 at the front of the line.

The mention of 4x is regarding the MS not PR. The link provided above has the MS just under $72

And APMEX can buy their ASE straight from the mint. As none have been received from the mint yet, these are true pre-sales and not where they have snagged any number and are waiting on shipment from PCGS

I had to look at their price a few times to make sure i was reading it right! $299! Absurd for MS70!

Got the 'check to make sure your account is correct prior to release of type 2' email last night from the Mint.

Anyone know why the enrollment code for the Proof ASE is MN versus 21EAN? Also, why the household limits differ from 3 to 25 depending on if its enrolment or not? Perhaps the enrolment page has not been updated? It doesn't make sense for such a discrepancy, particularly given the previous ordering issues with this release.

So I was enrolled for the old ASE and have not received any word about them getting ready to charge my card or anything for the type 2. Do I have to do a separate enrollment for the new ASE or will my enrollment continue from the old one?

  • scooter25scooter25 Posts: 769 ✭✭✭✭

Never mind!! I see now it switched over and I think I am good to go

  • MsMorrisineMsMorrisine Posts: 33,785 ✭✭✭✭✭

the type2 are each separate enrollments from the type 1

they hacked everyone from 100 HHL down to 25 a while ago. I'm guessing they did not want to hack people down from 25 to 3

The "enrollment code" for the ASE Proof-W coin is "MN". If you buy this enrollment and keep it active, you get this coin every year, just like a magazine subscription.

In contrast, 21EAN is the item code for a specific coin in the series (i.e., this year's T2 release).

I did not make any changes to my enrollments and got an enrollment reminder about this coin in my email last night telling me to confirm address and credit card are still correct.

  • originalsandmanoriginalsandman Posts: 155 ✭✭✭

I didn't do a separate enrollment for the type 2 either.

They're worth $300 because they have not yet developed spots.

    Perhaps I am wrong

I did make 2 new ones

Perhaps my type 1 was inactive and that was i

I know this American Eagle 2021 One Ounce Silver Proof Coin is due out tomorrow at noon eastern time but I just got an email from USMint that my order has been confirmed. It is for a subscription of 2 coins but my wife's subscription of 2 coins has no email from the mint yet. Hopefully we'll get an email later on.

  • KnellKnell Posts: 455 ✭✭✭✭✭

Both subscription for 2 coins each - 2 separate account same household address has been confirmed by the USMint via email.

  • rickoricko Posts: 98,724 ✭✭✭✭✭

I am confirmed (Mint email) for the W ASE type 2..... That was easy... ;) Enrollment is good. Cheers, RickO
