    You might try the metal detecting forum- though it is not metal. Some rock guys over there.

    Most likely a star sapphire.

    Probably a Lindy stone,

    Man made, [ie fake]

    You can spot them because the star is so clear.

    Usually in blue

    They look like polished rocks that you can buy by the bagful to put in a garden or planter.
