Better Date Peace Dollars

Everyone who has completed a mint state Peace Dollar set know the 1934-s is the tough key date. Here are some better date Peace Dollars, and some of my favorites though.

    Beautiful examples!
I love this series and that is some sweet eye candy.
    Thanks for sharing.

Really nice 28. Of the 24 coins in the series, there are 7 or 8 that are always challenging to find in nice condition. Some are usually available, but expensive like the 34-S, but others are almost impossible to find nice, like the 25-S and 28-S. They’re easy to find in the MS63 range, but really challenging in gem grades. The other San Fran dates aren’t so easy either.

It’s a wonderfully quirky, fun series to complete.

Larry Shapiro told me once you could put together a world-class collection of Morgans in 6-9 months but it would take 2-3 years to assemble a comparable collection of Peace dollars. From my own experience, I’d say he’s spot-on.

I really like the Peace Dollar... and that 1921 is a really nice coin. Cheers, RickO

The 1928 is definitely an undervalued coin for the series, especially the higher grades. The series is getting warm with the 2021 coming out, I've noticed prices 20-30% higher across the board from last year when I was finishing up the series.

I stepped away for a minute to take a nap. Are you telling me an MS 64 1921 Peace dollar is now a $2000 coin??

The PCGS price guide reports a 1921 in MS 66 at $20k now, recently adjusted from $12k.

I checked ebay sales and 64s are getting 2k solid on ebay all day. I almost bought a 66 around christmas because im doing a grading set as I've posted before. you could get a 66 for 7k back then i priced a few, just didnt see one that fit the look i wanted. And yeah now they are 20k. Its nuts.
