81 - You could also go with: Richard " Night Train" Lane, Terrell Owens, Tim Brown
All great choices!! I’m going with TO! No offense to @SDSportsFan
I would choose TO. He is probably the best or second best receiver I ever watched play. I understand all of the criticism, and the decreased value perhaps from his personality. But even with all that, I think his play means that he rises above.
Edited to add: Even at third best, maybe, I still would choose him.
Mr Page was a beast. But I'm a bleeding blue Cowboy and Michael was one of the main spokes in that Cowboy wheel back on those 90's teams that won 3 Lombardis. But mad respect for Mr Page in my book. Always loved watching him and Mr Eller wreaking their havoc as long as it wasn't to the Cowboys.

Page is the correct answer.
Irvin was amazing, and despite his accolades might be underrated. In my opinion, his numbers don't necessarily reflect his all-around contributions. Living here in Cowboys country the last many years, I've come to have an appreciation for Irvin's game, as well as his on the field mental make-up that just let him dominate opponents and inspire teammates.
But Page is the best 88 to ever do it the NFL for sure.
As a sidenote, there is often fun debate about the best 88 as a Cowboy, Irvin or Drew Pearson.

I won't even go into how many pro bowl and all pro teams Tony Gonzalez was on, but add Alan
Page and Micheal Irvins' totals together and that's roughly the answer.
I'm okay with Alan Page number 1, but Michael Irvin isn't even in the discussion.
Gonzalez had way more yards than Irvin and he was a tight end.
Page 1 Gonzalez 2 or Gonzalez 1 and Page 2.
Buck Buchanan is the correct choice for number 86, not even debatable.
Tony Gonzalez 14 time pro bowl, 6 time first team all pro. Best Tight end ever, Travis Kelce could possibly overtake him.
Michael Irvin 5 time pro bowl, 1 time first team all pro.
The real discussion is between Page and Gonzalez, but nobody except me even mentions Chiefs players
so you know where the consensus opinion would be if put to a vote. Gonzalez would get 1 vote.

No offense taken.
You're good.
Steve
82 Ozzie Newsome
69 Al Brown
I don't know/remember this player.
83 Ted Hendricks or Andre Reed?
If you wanted to go much further back you could go with Raymond Berry here. I just took a look at his career numbers and they are very good.
I'll take Andre for 83.
84 - Randy Moss
Steve
85 - Jack Youngblood*
*Played through the entire 1979 post-season, including the Super Bowl, with a broken leg....'nough said!
Steve
It was a toss up between the two.
Tough decision, I’d say Reed by a hair.
86 Stanley Morgan!
Love Stanley Morgan! He would be my choice. You also have Buck Buchanan.
87 GRONK !!
88 Michael Irvin?
He would be my choice, but I think Alan Page is the answer.
89 Mike Ditka
100% agreed, I forgot about Page being 88
Absolutely.

90 - TJ Watt
90 - Julius Peppers

94- Charles Haley
95- Greg Lloyd?
96- Cortez Kennedy
or Richard Dent?
97- Simeon Rice
I forgot about Dent!
Irvin over Page? Please just kill me now.
For the record I admitted to forgetting Page wore 88, I’m 100% in agreement that Page is #88 in this list
98 Robert Mathis?

99 JJ Watt
Edited to add: Warren Sapp is the other option here imo.
The hometown fix is in. A brokerage house over a hall of famer.
Thanks for playing everyone! 🍻👍👍
Great thread! On to the NBA? MLB? NHL?
I think that’s a great idea, I’m not knowledgeable enough to start a thread and contribute all that much though especially with NBA and NHL!
