    Very interesting follow up. I remember reading about this story a while back and thinking about what was really found at the site. Here they mention that special equipment did detect something with the density of gold weighing about 9 tons before the dig, but the Feds found nothing… after kicking out the original discovers.
    Nothing to see here, move along

    I saw that story. Very intriguing. Must be something to it if the feds took it seriously.

    I remember this total booshwah story! Something about gold mined in Indiana or Ohio (y’all remember the Great Indiana Gold Rush, don’t ya???) being transported to the Philadelphia Mint in a wagon instead of the many different railroads criss-crossing the region!!!! Totally logical!!!!

    I followed this story for a few years.... certainly some odd points made... Including what @CaptHenway mentions above. The fact that the original 'seekers' were barred from the final dig is really strange, if factual. Cheers, RickO
