I got tired of my Buffalo date set barely not fitting in a PCGS box

So I made a 23 coin PCGS box. :)
It's not perfect but it will get the job done nicely.

    That's kinda cool! Band saw?

Radial arm saw, it was slightly out of square which made the job a little harder than it should have been.

You would need a 24 coin box for a date set, right?

That's a clever solution you have there.

No 22, 32,33 - leaves 23 (hope my math is correct)

Wow - I would have thought a radial arm saw would really tear up the box or leave a wide kerf.

Did you cut the box with the lid on??

Yep, I taped the lid to the box just to prevent any relative movement. I was surprised how cleanly it cut through, just some minor cleanup with 220 sandpaper on a flat surface, the super glue bonded the surfaces almost instantly.

You are correct, although maybe I should have made a 24 coin box so that I'd have room for both a type 1 and type 2 for 1913. The registry is just one or the other.

Yes-my date set is 24 coins, 1913 Vars 1 & 2 and the rest. But I also have all of the major varieties and some of the significant ones that are not mainstream stuff, such as both the obverse and reverse doubled dies for the year 1936. The reverse d die is quite scarce. I don't keep mine in a PCGS box but in three nine coin display trays for a total of 27 coins. I also have the 1913-D & S Var 1 and an extra 1916 which fills them up.

I’d make one of these for joe aka @crazyhounddog but I don’t have enough boxes to melt together!
    In all seriousness nice work!

Excellent job, now that's a great idea. Blue boxes are everywhere and cheap. Thanks for the example. Peace Roy

Great idea... Now I expect to see some rainbow boxes.... fabricated out of all the different colors. Who will have the most colors in one box? I can see them selling for a significant premium, with a COA from the fabricator - signed. :D;) Cheers, RickO

How many do you want? I have about a dozen gathering dust in my basement.

My thoughts exactly! Do you go with 24 or 25 though?
