How would the provenance Ex: Sylvester S. Crosby be considered by the members here?

    It would be pretty significant for me, especially, if it was a plate coin in one of his works. But a provenance like that overall is very cool because you rarely know the early history of a coin.

    Very significant to me. I have tracked provenance as far back on all coins I have. Because of his landmark work, would be totally cool to be able to trace back particularly if an early American coin that may have been in his book
    or if in his Haseltine 1883 sale.

    It would be interesting to many collectors. I am not a 'provenance' collector, but many value this information. I would certainly keep such information if it were with a coin I wanted. Cheers, RickO
