2021 Washington Crossing the Delaware. US Mint rolls and bags...

Batman23Batman23 Posts: 5,001 ✭✭✭✭✭

Does anyone have any information on what the mint is doing for these? Half way through the year now and I do not see anything listed on the product schedule for these. I was hoping to pick up a bag of S mint quarters.

They are the current "regular issue" quarters. I am not aware that any special offerings will be made as was done with the state and NPs quarters.

I finally received 3 in change yesterday.

I don't think that they are going to release rolls and bags of these. It seems like the rolls and bags were just for the national parks quarters.

I have not seen one in change yet... Not surprising, no W quarters in change either. Just a little town in the country... so it will be a while. Cheers, RickO

The US Mint confirmed they aren't doing bags and rolls for these.

That is a bummer, I was looking forward to this one. Thanks for the confirmation.

These "regular issue" quarters are just a partial year wonder aren't they? I think I read that there are going to be a new series of quarters starting for 2022.

Yes, except they are a one year wonder - 2021.

Too bad, as they deserved to stick around for a while.

What is the difference between the rolls of coins that the mint sells on it's website and rolls meant for circulation? Yesterday, I was at the gas station and the lady behind the counter pulled out a roll of quarters to put in the register. I asked her if she would sell me the roll. She did. So, ...it was a solid roll of the Delaware quarter. Mint State? What's the difference? The wrapper??

Were they S mint? I would take a few mint state rolls of any mintmark at face. As for the wrapper you are completely correct, I was only going to peel the wrappers off anyway.

It is nice that you were able to find a roll at face. My problem is that I am in a place that will not get solid rolls of mint state quarters. So I would have to "buy" mint state rolls. I saw an offer here for $18/roll from a member. May as well buy from the mint and get all P and D and S mintmarks for about that or less. And I'm not knocking the guy selling for $18/roll, that is a great opportunity for someone that really wants them and has no other option, such as myself. I was just watching and waiting for the mint offerings and the S mint bags specifically.

@Batman23 Because the mint is not going to sell any rolls or bags of these, there will not be any S mint UNC Washington Crossing the Delaware quarters produced.

Maybe a little off topic. Maybe not. I hear talk about a coin shortage but around here the coin situation is something that I have never seen before. I use cash for everything except gas at the pump so I'm always getting change. Practically all the change here is FRESH! 2021. SHINY! Tuskegee and Delaware quarters. Nickels and dimes. Pennies too. It's very odd. I asked the lady at the gas station to sell me that roll of quarters as somewhat of a test. I figured she would because they have so many new rolls. Go figure.

Will this regular issue make ms 66 and ms 67 coins hard to come by? Out of a group of 5 rolls, I pulled one coin that I wouldcall an ms 65. Everything else was 62-63, IMO

Maybe your roll came from the bottom of the ballistic bag? There should be some good ones in rolls out there somewhere. I would also expect some decent ones should come out of the annual mint sets when they are released.
