Is the spotting problem with Silver Eagles,,,,,,,

still as bad as it was or is it better? If so how much better?
I haven't bought any graded ones lately so I don't know.
Thinking about buying the 2021 Ty 1 & Ty 2 set graded MS70 but hate to shell out the premium and have them spot.
Thanks for your input.

Personally I would be very reluctant and just plain avoidant of investing in ASE 70s given I haven’t heard any resolution of the issue from the Mint.
With no guarantee from PCGS, good on them, Your 70’s could become worth near spot with spots, very quickly.
Interesting or not, I had 200 type 1 ASEs graded. First batch of 100 was at PCGS for about 2 weeks and had very little problems with spotting (I don’t think any actually spotted). My second group was at pcgs for about a month and almost half the order are now spotted in FS slabs, 70 and 69.
I have not heard much about spotting on ASE's in the last year or so.... but no reason to believe it has been resolved. I have a couple I keep by my computer, one slabbed (2014) and two in the mint capsules... No spotting. But then, I have never had a spotting issue on ASE's...Just lucky I guess. Or, maybe it is the acetone dip I give them when I get them. (not the slabbed one's
) Cheers, RickO
Wait ten years before you buy them. If the spots didn’t show up by then they probably won’t.
Well,, thanks for the input.
I guess I will have to pass on the slabbed ones.
I stick with MS69 instead of MS70. To me they look just as good, and less of a financial loss when/if spots appear. I have some MS69s that have developed spotting that I could still sell at spot, and make more than I paid for them.
I don't normally do much with ASEs but I bought a 2021 graded MS70 in Feb. I wanted it with the 35th anniversary label that was offered in the quarterly special. So I sent it in along with a few coins that had damaged slabs. It came back but had a hair stuck in the slab with it. In April I sent it back for hair removal, I got it back without the hair but I was very disappointed it was no longer in the 35th anniversary label I had previously paid for. I got to looking at the coin because something was not right, I was seeing marks and milk spots. This coin should not be in a 70 holder in my opinion. Instead of fighting over the wrong label problem I just tossed it over to the box of mistakes. I'll have to look at it later and see how bad those spots progress. So yes, the spotting problem is still something to be concerned about.
I think I will go with APMEX TEP packaging. I have several of those from years ago and none have spotted, I think that their packaging is more air tight and helps prevent the spotting.
