Can anyone help Identify this "coin"

Had this for a very long time but I have never seen another to identify it. Can anyone help identify this piece. It is 1-1/8" long and 13/16" wide, at its widest. I appears to be made of copper or brass.

Have you thought about posting this to ancient coins?

Looks like some Chinese/far eastern writing one side. Not sure what is, but it isn't a coin. Maybe some type of religious medal (wild guess)

That is one of Confucius guitar picks. He threw them out into the crowds all the time. Peace Roy
