      1. I see the coin but not the grade. I assume its in an MS68 holder. I've had similar thoughts on other coins. I went to buy an MS68 steel cent at Long beach and found 2 at $1200 each. I ended up with 2 67s that looked better for 50 each.

I agree coyn. I've seen some 68 1943 Lincolns that looked worse than my 67s.

Gee whiz - I leave the board for a few hours and everyone starts fighting over the football. As for someone being spanked by BJ, that sounds like it could really be fun. Would it be possible to volunteer for punishment? Its my professional opinion, as an ex pharmacist, that everone could use a cold brewski and another hotdog. Pharmacist Bear.

                    LW,

I have to side with Ken on this. You often post something that is irrelevent. I have seen the threads on the Open Forum and for some reason you think there is some value to having a lot of posts next to your name.

Ken doesn't fly off the handle for no reason and perhaps his patience was just down a bit today.

It is like the child who talks all the time, thus having no time to listen and learn. Stick around, but work on your listening skills.

                    Ken,

I wanted to respond to the subject matter here also. That coin was probably one of the many 68s made a while ago. There are 35 of them in the population report.

I believe the story is that quite a number were part of a hoard that was submitted, but I would defer to the experts on that.

I have a 68 and I had to go look at it and the coin you linked cannot hold a candle to the one I have. I am not sure what was going on when that coin was slabbed.

                    LW,

Does that mean you are going to buy the bust half for 50K as you stated in another thread, or were you just posting to post as usual. It was certainly not relevent. Chill out and be real.

Merc folks, this is my last post... but I felt it had to be said.

Now to the Coin. If Many were Submitted at the Same time it would be Quite Possible One Slipped through with a Grade Just a Little Higher than it Should be. Wonder if this is What Happened ?? I Can't Imagine Other 68 Coins Looking Like this One. Like Dennis said, If 68 looks like this We All have a Bunch of them in Our Sets and Heck Maybe some 69's Also.

                              1. lw, most of your posts that I have read, are for one thing only...to increase your number of threads....all short and really no merit to the subject matter at hand......example"You're telling me to leave, Tim? I have seniority over you."
and as far as SENIOR, first you must be over 21 years of age, and act like it, to be senior to anything.....something you are not!

Ken, I am not usually saying anything on here, but I have to agree, if a person has nothing to offer, stay on the side, and do alot more listening.....I have learned so much by reading posts (that had someting to offer) than ever giving my opinion. I also realize that this post has nothing to do with the coin at hand and I apologize to the forum.....I will now go back into the shadows....

                                Thanks for listening.

                                    Tim:
That would be Interesting. Every Once in awhile I have the Same thought but So Far have been able to Refrain from Trying It.

Only One Problem with that. What if they left it at 68 ?? Would You Really want to Own that Coin ?? Not I !! From the Response Here No One Else would Either.

Oh Well a Person Could Dump it on a Non Suspecting, Non Registry Person. All You would Have to do is Get Over the Guilt of Selling Such a Ugly Looking 68 Coin.image
