Speaking of rim issues. 20-D Buffalo's

The thread about the 1910-S Lincoln and its rim issue (or non-issue) got me thinking about 1920-D Buffalo nickels. Take a look at reverse rim between 1 and 4 o 'clock of some of the highest graded coins:
I owned the middle of the three before I sold my Buffalos about six years ago now. The rim issue never bothered me but I thought it interesting that so many high grade examples had the same issue. Maybe Koynekwest or some other Buffalo expert has more information.

Looks like rim CUDS to me.
You are correct.
Yep-rim cuds. They don't affect grade or desirability at all. Those are three premium Buffs-nice coins-
The destinction between the Lincoln and those buffs is that the Lincoln has a planchet issue and these buffs show a die issue.
If I were looking for a high grade example of either design, I would probably prefer them without a planchet clip or a die cud, but sometimes they just aren’t available.

Thanks, everyone, for the comments and information. I was told back when I bought mine that they were cuds but I remember thinking how odd that so many high grade examples had those cuds while most 20-D's I saw did not.

Rim cuds are the result of die state and and, in your case, the die state of a single die.
Probably all came from the same original roll.
Those are all very nice Buffs, and the rim cuds would not bother me at all with such fine coins. Cheers, RickO
I think you're probably correct. What a roll!
