Was offered a stack of early 1980s sterling silver rounds a few days back.

Almost turned my nose up to them. Sterling? Who needs it.

Then I looked a little closer and realized they were actually coins, with denominations. And they were in beautiful condition.

And then I realized they had a mint/privy mark on them that I recognized and thought: How cool is that?

Turns out all from this series are pretty rare, and some are very valuable. So I scooped up most of the 30 or so pieces. Recognize the mint/privy mark?

I also finally added a piece to my sterling silver beer mug/tankard collection:

Nice pickup on the coins... and an interesting addition to your mug collection... One of which I still want... ;) Cheers, RickO

Wonder how your going to drink out of that tankard ;)
I picked up this love token this week. Host coin is a liberty head half eagle.

Gold love tokens are pretty rare in my experience, @Kliao . Great piece!

Thanks :) . It’s also interesting that the date on the coin is in the 1900’s while most I see are from the mid to late 1800’s.

Gold love tokens are not common.... mostly because gold represented more value during the time love tokens were popular. Jewelry for the wealthy... Cheers, RickO
