Mint set toning?

Does this dime look like it came from a Mint Set? Or, is there something else going on here?

    I think so. It reminds me of 1958 mint sets I’ve seen.

    This one's still in the original holder. A little more red and less gold, but very similar.

    Yep, 58 mint sets in those old cardboard holders are known for doing that. Most of the coins, not just the dimes, tone up like that or sometimes with rainbows around the perimeters. I pulled this and some others out of a mint set about 15 years ago and got them slabbed.

    Looks like it could be... though not one that I would own. Just do not like that ugly tarnish. Cheers, RickO
