Must feel good to be getting closer! It will be a great accomplishment.

What will you do with your Trade Dollar set when you are done?

Serious question, but I just can't help adding...

Will you trade them for medals ;)

I divide my time between US coins and a very specific group of 18th century medals. My only regret with the medals is that I happened to become obsessed with foreign medals and they are very tough to locate in my specialty, A balance between collecting things that one only needs a checkbook to collect and things that are challenging is ideal.

    Excellent post.
I do this with most everything.
My VF type set is relatively cheap.
I could complete it in a week.
I have been searching for years to find just the right coins.
You don't need wads of cash to have fun.
    Medals are addicting.

Keep the Trades, they sort of remind me of medals :)

Dump the Trade Dollars and go to medals exclusively. They are more interesting than coins. Good luck!

    All glory is fleeting.

Good luck with your new interest.... Medals, while similar to coins in many respects, hold entirely different aspects... For example, what was it awarded for, is it general or individual specific, historical event or societal.... and on and on. Some are quite bland, while others very ornate. Have fun... Cheers, RickO
