Completed My Basic U.S. Coin Design Set (1792 - Present)!

My Basic U.S. Coin Design Set (1792 - Present) is now "complete"!
Ranked #2 All-time. (a LOT behind the uncatchable D.L. Hansen). However, my set, while clearly lower in grade by about 1-1/2 grading points on average, has some things that his phenomenal set doesn't:
- Every one of my coins eligible for a CAC (44 coins) has one.
- Of the 44 coins potentially eligible for a "+", 30 of those 44 has a "+". (But his coins don't need a "+", as they are typically a full point or two grading points higher than mine)!
- This set has one Flying Eagle Cent and one Indian Head Cent. Each of those two coins has a CAC AND also has the Eagle Eye Photo Seal from Rick Snow!
A day without fine wine and working on your coin collection is like a day without sunshine!!!

Very nice! Thanks for sharing.
Nice coins.
Interesting set definition, which basically skips many of the early types, like the Chain cent, and adds moderns.
Makes it much more affordable, so there are 42 sets that have more than 90% completion.
[edit to add:]
The early coins are great coins, but I feel the set is incorrectly labelled with 1792 as the start date.
Your earliest coin in the set is a 1798 $1, and after that is your 1803 $10, then 1832 half dime and dimes.
D.L. Hansen's set includes similar dates.
While a 1792 half disme could qualify for inclusion in the "early half dime" slot in the set,
it is not required, and would not bring as many set points per dollar spent.
It's really meant for the much more expensive sets.
I know you didn't chose the labeling on the set, and I had not heard of this set definition before,
so I'm sorry if this seems like a negative comment about your coins. It was not meant that way.
@winesteven Congrats on a great set! It takes a lot of focus and patience to do what you have done.
I like your 1834 QE. I was eyeing that one. Great color and toning. Was that the final coin to complete your set or was it an upgrade?
Awesome! Congratulations!
Well done!
Congrats awesome set! Love the classic $2.5 and $5.

Very nice set! Congralulations! I am way behind you.
Congrats on a great set! It takes a lot of focus and patience to do what you have done.
The 1834 was not an upgrade, and not the final coin. The 1835 Half Eagle was the final coin. While the True View shows an unattractive dark area on the right obverse field, I was assured by the seller that the separate obverse photo I uploaded much more closely represents the coin in hand.
Thanks for your kind words, and thanks also to everyone else above. I’ve been putting together a “general” Type Set for decades. As I joined the Registry around seven or so years ago, I got more focused as I joined the Basic U.S. Coin Design Set, No Gold. I also started with other type sets, such as a 12 Piece Gold Type Set. I then discovered from reading this forum the concept of Dansco 7070 (one Registry set with Gold, another without those 10 gold coins). Being I had my “base” Type Set”, I then needed about a dozen new coins to complete those sets. After that, I learned from reading this forum about the Type Set I just completed, and saw I had every coin except for the three expensive “Early” Gold Quarter Eagle, Half Eagle, and Eagle. So I saved up, and started on a hunt for those three coins. What a fun hobby!

Thanks everyone so very much for your kind words. I have passion for this wonderful hobby, and greatly appreciate the camaraderie of forum members. I work during the day, and always look so forward to reading the forum postings each evening. THAT's the best time of my day! (Some of you may be thinking "wow, if spending time on this forum is the highlight of his day, I feel sorry for him", lol).

Beautiful, awesome quality. Looks like you've maintained discipline and avoided settling so you can enjoy each coin. Well done sir.
I've been asked which was my first coin for my Type Set?
The first coin that inspired this collection was a 20 cent piece that my dad brought home for me from his coffee shop in the early 1960's. Apparently early that day a customer used it to pay for a cup of coffee, thinking it was a quarter. Years later, as I upgraded the coins in my set, I sold this coin. Looking back, it's obviously clear that was a BIG mistake, as I truly wish I saved it for sentimentality.
