Massachusettes medal/token die pair

KnellKnell Posts: 458 ✭✭✭✭✭

Got this die pair early last year and found a set sample of medals/token been watching for a few months on eBay. Finally bought the set so I can match the MA token with the die pair.

Made of aluminum. Anyone know of a safer way to remove the masking tapes? Remove tapes or not?

Any idea who made this?

Thanks for looking and/or comments.

    Great die/token set!

I have been looking to do similar things with some dies I bought from @mustanggt over on the BST Forum.

As for removing the one token? If it were me I'd hold off for now. If you can find a better set for a decent price then I'd buy that to keep intact and then pilfer this one. Or, bust this one apart and try to sell off the others singly or in groups.

Thankfully they are aluminum so I think the impact from the masking tape might be minimal.

One way to remove masking tape is to steam it.... You could use a steam iron, and press the steam button (not touching the tape/coins), spraying the steam on the tape....it should loosen the adhesive. If the tape is very old, it may take a while. Cheers, RickO
