Bean or not the coin is ugly with those spots. Blow it out and get rid of it: eBay or GC. Will JA buy it from you at CAC bid?
I deleted my earlier response to this as intemperate. I now retract my retraction. Blow it out? Out of where?
1) How many choice unc NM $5's have you traded in the last 5 years?.
2) What is the first digit of CAC bid?
3) Forget JA. Dump it on me at 7% behind CAC bid
4) There are going to be another five guys right behind me
5) Using a 16X to compensate for cataracts is tricky....

If @Cougar1978 had paid attention to the opening sentence/post in this thread, he would have known that the OP doesn’t even own the coin to be able to “blow it out and get rid of it” if he wanted to.

Ouch. My bad. I just went with what I saw in the photos. Looked more XF/AUish to me than choice UNC with some high point rub. But I can see them giving it a MS grade. So at that 63 grade level I'm a bit surprised it was CAC'd.
If you have any raw coins for sale I would be a happy buyer. Lol.

Upon magnification it seems riddled with green spots. I’m
Not so sure it would sticker if you dipped those off since you’d lose the original skin.
what would you use t "dip these off" with???
something, IMO, does not chive with this coin and its grade.
These spots can develop after slabbing and CAC approval. Pictures are poor but I owned this coin and the spot on the 5 showed up after a year or so in an SDB.

Dipping in anything that would remove the skin, like thiourea, will not remove the spots. You need something that will remove the pvc, like dichloromethane or chloroform. These will not affect any surface skin.
The green spots can be a form of verdigris or even PVC which does NOT harm gold coin surfaces, Simply send them back to PCGS to remove the verdigris or possibly PVC which they usually do at no charge. .
I agree. I have found several tokens that are gold gilt with same spots. I have several I want to send to pcgs for conservation
i had a charlotte gold piece with some green globs on it similar to this...not as high grade though. it received a green sticker. i no longer have the coin, but in the case of this coin...i would pass on it because it's high grade and in my opinion not desirable because of the spotting.
