I saw this on Coin News today. I don't have a full subscription, so I just get the basic headlines.
Anyone want to give a probability of this passing? It would be good for the bullion market would it not?

It sure sounds like it would be a good thing for the bullion market. Since it’s sponsored by a democrat it has a bit more of a chance right now but it will have many hurdles to go through and probably many amendments.

Interesting. I'm not holding my breath though.

The sponsor is A Mooney D-W.Va, however as the current president has been pushing for more capital gains tax increases I do not see much chance of this passing.

I guess it’s a typo in the report. In any case, it would be good for bullion users but probably unlikely to pass as is. It has a long road to hoe.

We should all contact our Reps/Senators and lobby in favor of this...Phone calls, emails, letters to editors... The more noise, the more attention, and we know how loud small factions can be in these times. Cheers, RickO

Does everyone understand that this is a double-edged sword?

You won't be able to recognize any losses on precious metals or write off losses against gains.

Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.
